Who We Are
Founder & CEO - Elijah Touzoukou
Hey there!! I'm Elijah.
Welcome to CaliSpanish!
Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, I started this path because I wanted to connect with friends and community members who spoke Spanish. That small spark of interest has since grown into a lifelong adventure!
I earned my B.A. in Economics and Spanish in California, completed a transformative study abroad program in Mérida, Yucatán, and am eager to bring the adventure to you!
CaliSpanish is designed to keep PEOPLE & FUN central to language acquisition. With everything we do, I strive to use my background and experiences creatively and effectively to guide you toward meaningful interactions with others, because I believe relationship-building is the best gauge of success in linguistic development.

Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Spanish (Honors) from Claremont McKenna College. Advanced coursework in sociolinguistics and Latin American Studies.
Completed a semester-long, full-immersion program at La Universidad Modelo in Mérida, Yucatán, México. Full Spanish coursework and homestay.
Taught English in Mérida, Yucatán.
Served as a multilingual classroom assistant at Serrano Middle School in Ontario, California.
